Questions and answers

Plain answers about how Daytone works and what it does with your data.

What is Daytone?

Daytone is an app for starting the day with a colour. You choose a colour as your mood for the day. You get a short private message to go with it, and you can make a magazine-style cover of yourself.

Do I have to take a photo?

No. A photo makes the cover feel like you, but you can use Daytone without one. Your colour and your message work the same way.

What data do you store?

We store your sign-in email, your first name, your city, your language, your colour and style choices, and for each cover the tone, shade, date and issue number. We also store your plan. If you add a birth date, we store that too. When you chat with our guide before you have an account, your words are sent to our AI provider to get an answer and we do not store them. The privacy page lists everything.

Where do my photo and covers go?

Nowhere. Your photo is cut out on your phone, and your finished cover is drawn on your phone. Neither one is uploaded to us. If you share or save a cover, that image goes where you send it.

How is the daily message written?

An AI model writes it, using the colour you chose and a few details you gave us, such as your first name, your city and the weather there. It is not medical advice and it is not a prediction. It can be wrong, and you can ignore it.

Is the colour meaning scientific?

No. It is an editorial point of view. When we say what a colour is about, that is in our reading, and it is one reading of many. Your own associations count for more than ours.

Which languages can I use?

The app, the guide and the daily message are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, Russian and Turkish. This website follows your browser language and you can switch it at the top.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. In your profile, choose Delete my data. We cancel any subscription, delete your account and the information linked to it, and clear what is saved on your phone. Some payment records may be kept where the law asks us to keep them.

Can I use it without posting anything?

Yes. Nothing is posted for you and nothing is public. A cover is only shared if you choose to share it, and your daily message is never part of a shared cover.
